Pengertian Kalimat Passive Voice
Passive voice adalah kalimat yang didahului dengan object, sedangkan subject-nya bisa ada di belakangnya atau bahkan nggak ada sama sekali. Dalam passive voice, keberadaan subject sudah tidak penting lagi, karena yang penting adalah objectnya. Kamu bisa menyimak contoh passive voice singkat di bawah ini.
Example:
- My bike was stolen -> tidak penting siapa yang mencuri sepedanya
- His heart is broken -> tidak penting siapa yang membuat hatinya patah
- A mistake was made in this report -> tidak penting siapa yang membuat kesalahan dalam laporan tersebut
Dalam pelajaran bahasa Indonesia, passive voice sama aja dengan kalimat pasif. Cara membuatnya pun sama, dengan “membalik” pola kalimat.
Cara Mengubah Active Voice ke Passive Voice
Cara mengubah active voice ke passive voice sebenarnya gampang. Akan tetapi semakin sulit pola kalimat, semakin rumit pula cara mengubahnya menjadi kalimat pasif. Semakin sulit bentuk tenses-nya, semakin rumit pula mengubah bentuk aktifnya menjadi pasif.
Akan tetapi intinya, rumus passive voice adalah sebagai berikut:
OBJECT + BE (is, am, are, was, were, has been, have been, had been) + PAST PARTICIPLE (verb-3)
